A few days in Paris. Looking for people sharing about consciousness, spirituality, events...
This newsletter is also available as podcast on Spotify and Apple and video on Instagram.
I just spent a few days in Paris.
Being isolated in the forest for months made me very sensitive to everything and I was obviously overwhelmed by the smell of pollution, the constant noise, the curious need that most hotels and restaurants need to add bad music to their “ambiance” and most important, the lack of animals.
I feel like the silence and what I learned there made me receive more information all the time from a multitude of sources, I am slowly adapting more emotions, feelings and information. As the Kogi people said, the more we use technology the less we remember how to use our own senses we were born with.
I was pleased to see that many streets of Paris are now owned by bicycles, I wish that the private cars would be completely removed, one day maybe. My partner Magdalena and I enjoyed a night bicycle ride.
I noticed that I seem to have different needs in a city. I need to stay in hotels that do not exist yet and eat in imaginary restaurants.

They would be calm, have places dedicated to meditation and I could meet like-minded people there. They would only have healthy food and drinks and no alcohol. They would have speakers talking about consciousness and what our brains can do that we do not or did not know about. This is what Magdalena launched in NYC, “The Assemblage” bud sadly both the hotel and co-working space did not survive Covid.
Here are a few people events, places or sources I was advised to check-out please let me know of others in France in comments? What are calm and “not too much like a conference center” places I could host events in Paris?
A few pointers:
-Anne Guesquière et son podcast “Metamorphose”
-Stephane Alix et son podcast “Inexploré”
Hotels
-Hotel Hoy in Pigalle and its vegan restaurant
-Soho House Paris (love SH of course… but not always in the calm/conscious vibe…)
French retreats organizers
-La pensee sauvage
I met old-friends (briefly since I was here only two days) and also many new friends who share the same passion about consciousness .
Paris is also where I launched my conference, LeWeb, about 20 years ago. It started with a few “bloggers” meetings not really organized and spontaneous, the first international was organized using a “wiki” page, LesBlogs.
In the forest I dreamt many times I should start such an event likely in Paris, but about consciousness, self-growth, health, nature, spirituality and our brains, all the topics I talk and hear about all day long. I am thinking about it.
I decided to do an impromptu gathering of anyone who would be interested to talk about these topics just on a small what’sapp group and we ended-up with a great meet-up with about 10 people (not everyone on the pic) in Le Jardin des Tuileries.
I was very pleased that two friends who were at the first LesBlogs came as well as entrepreneurs and saw it as a good sign that an event should happen at one point.
It was beautiful that it was nearly all men because I believe that conscious men need to come together and “do the work” as I see many women do it as in Magdalena’s Yin Institute gathering hundreds of spiritual women all the time.
I also have in mind to write a book one day and two authors came, both writing about nature, the jungle, the Earth and out of the ordinary experiences.
Romain Dian wrote “Humain” about his spiritual transformation after having been a successful owners of hot Parisian Clubs and spending time in the jungle, buddhist temples, tantra and more.
Jean-Pierre Goux is a science-fiction novels author (he gave me his “Siecle Bleu” and is focusing on the “Overview effect”.
I was super happy to meet many parisians “on the same frequency and interests” and would be really interested if you could share in the comments places or events in Paris or France I could visit, meditation places, vegan or conscious restaurants or hotels and meet more people with the same interests, writers, bloggers, podcasters… Thanks!
